NSU vice rector indicted on charges of Medicaid fraud

W. Wayne Perry Jr., vice rector of the Norfolk State University board of visitors, was indicted Wednesday on federal charges related to Medicaid fraud, according to various media reports.

Perry is president of Norfolk-based Community Personal Care Inc. According to The Virginian-Pilot, the federal indictment claims he and his wife Angela bilked more than $1.3 million from Medicaid between January 2009 and December 2012. Through a false billing scheme, the report said, the home health care company submitted approximately 6,472 fraudulent claims to the Virginia Medicaid program.
