When John T. Dever took the helm in October at Thomas Nelson Community College it was almost a homecoming.
From the beginning of his 40-year community college career until 1995, Dever was professor of English and chair of the Communications and Humanities Division at TNCC.
"I am happy to be back," Dever said in an interview last week. "I kept my home in Newport News, hoping to return to this college and serve as president."
