Interim NSU president aims to 'right the ship'

Eddie N. Moore Jr. walked into the financially distressed Virginia State University in 1993 and remained its president for the next 17 years. On Monday he's scheduled to start his first day at Norfolk State University, but don't expect him to be around for 17 years, he said."I expect to be here two to three years, and longer if I, the board and the faculty agree on it," said Moore, who postponed retirement to lend a hand to yet another historically black college and university in Virginia. He later said: "I am committed to the green and gold and the improvement of its reputation both statewide and nationally."
