Norfolk State University administrators went on a public relations blitz last week, responding to two Virginian-Pilot editorials that raised concerns about finances, academics and management at the public school.
The editorials, which ran July 17 and July 18, noted that the university is behind on financial audits, that one of its nursing programs is barred from accepting new students this year and that some board members were troubled by what they perceived as a lack of communication by NSU President Tony Atwater.
